Folk Paper-cutting Couple Artists — GAO Xiaodong and YAN Fang

GAO Xiaodong, courtesy name Yunlong, native of Yitang Village in Hejin county, Yuncheng City is a member of China Guan Gong Cultural Protection Fund Committee, and an image ambassador for Thai folk international cultural exchanges. He is also the vice president of Shanxi Paper-cutting Artists Association, and the president of Yuncheng Branch. He is the vice president of Yuncheng Arts and Crafts Association, and the chairman of Hejin Paper-cutting Art Association. He is a paper-cutting artist, and a master of folk arts and crafts in Yuncheng City. He was the winner of the Guinness World Record for "the world largest traditional Chinese paper-cutting".

YAN Fang, a native of Yitang Village in Hejin county, Yuncheng City, is the image ambassador for international cultural exchanges among Thai people. She is the third female representative of Yuncheng City, and the vice chairman of Hejin Paper-cutting Art Association. She is also the top ten figures in the Chinese Confucian business culture industry. She was the winner of the Guinness World Record for "the world largest traditional Chinese paper-cutting". Finally, she is the winner of the "Pu Xianghong" show in Yuncheng.

GAO Xiaodong and YAN Fang has participated in many TV shows, such as CCTV-7 "Meeting", CCTV-3 "Starting to Happiness", Tianjin Satellite TV "Happiness Knocks on the Door", Zhejiang Satellite TV "Chinese Dream Show" and Thai TV program. Their paper-cut works were sent as a gift to CCTV, Germany, Tajikistan and other countries on behalf of the Hejin Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government. They also took part in other activities, such as the World Cultural Industry Expo, China Tourism Expo, Tianjin International Cultural and Creative Exhibition and Fair, and Shenzhen Cultural Industry Trade Fair.

Their Guinness World largest paper-cut work "Two Saints of China" was exhibited at the first exhibition in Malaysia in June 2015. The "Chinese Martial Saint" and "The Emperor Guan Sheng" were collected by the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia and the Malaysian organizers. 

In February 2016, they were invited to Thailand to participate in the CPN2016 China Annual Special Exhibition. It was widely reported in many media press such as Xinhua News Agency, Xinhua Net, People’s Daily Net, World Guan Gong Culture Net, CCTV Network TV Station, Shanxi Satellite TV, Guangxi Satellite TV, Jiangsu Satellite TV, Malaysian TV, Thai TV and Hong Kong Wen Wei Po, Macau Daily, Guangming Daily, China News and many other news media.

Since 2015, they have been invited to southeastern Asian countries for international cultural exchanges many times, promoting traditional Chinese culture and enhancing international cultural exchanges. Their paper-cut works are collected by related organizations and friends in the United States, Malaysia, Thailand, Iran, Brunei and other countries, as well as in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.
